Whatman plc ("Whatman"), a leading global supplier of separations technology to the life sciences industry, today announces the appointment of Dr. Stephan Fleck as Vice President of Technical Operations.

Dr. Fleck has gained a wealth of experience during his successful international career over many years with Bayer Group.  During his time at Bayer Healthcare (BHC) he held various senior positions within the life sciences area, including responsibility for the manufacturing, engineering, planning and compliance of BHC’s worldwide pharmaceutical solids packaging activities.  Dr. Fleck has also undertaken roles in Bayer as Head of Manufacturing Technology within the Diagnostics division where he was responsible for operations generating annual sales of $450 million.

Dr. Fleck gained his Ph.D., magna cum laude, in Engineering from the University of Magdeburg, Germany (1999) and also holds a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Wuppertal, Germany (1994) and a Masters in Engineering from Aachen College, Germany (1989).
