Located at the downstream end of tests, absorbent sinks control sample flow along the strip. Their hydrophilic properties and excellent wicking characteristics draw liquid into the pads, facilitating sample flow. Selection of the appropriate absorbent enables control of the assay flow rate. Whatman cellulose materials consistently provide ideal performance.
Features and Benefits
- Consistent absorbency and wicking rates
Superior test-to -test reproducibility
- Wide range of thicknesses, absorbancy and wicking rates
- Compatable with most styles of housings..
- Minimal leakage back along the strip.
High absorbencies prevent reverse flow from contaminating test results.
Product Range and Properties
CF3, CF4 & 470
100% cotton linter. Medium thickness and absorbency. Suitable for small sample volumes and slow flow rates.
CF5 & CF10
100% cotton linter. Higher absorbency for medium sample volumes and flow rates.
CF6
Glass fibre/cellulose mix. Higher absorbency than CF5 and faster wicking for higher flow rates. Solves conjugate backflow.
CF7, 900 & 300
Our thickest 100% cotton absorbent. Suitable for high-volume samples.
